Authorities in the United Kingdom have announced that they will process visa applications within 15 days again, a report from Economic Times reads.

“Good news for those travelling from India to the UK- visit visas now within the standard time of 15 working days (with a small number of trickier cases taking longer),” British High Commissioner Alex pointed out in this regard through a post made on his Twitter account.
Like many other territories worldwide, authorities in the United Kingdom also kept in place strict travel rules and other entry bans in order to prevent an increase in the number of COVID infection cases, however, following a significant improvement in the epidemiological situation, previously, authorities in the UK decided to abolish the restrictions imposed to halt the spread of COVID-19 and its new variants.
The easing of travel restrictions by authorities in the UK, led to an increase in travel demand, at the time that it was struggling with immigration backlogs pushing a large number of students, as well as workers and tourists to reschedule their travel.
However, now, officials in the UK announced that they took the decision to process visa applications within 15 days, in order to further ease the travel process. At the same time, Ellis also confirmed that slots for UK student visas have also been opened.
“Please apply as quickly as you can because there is a lot of demand. Make sure you provide the right information. Check what information we are asking for, and make sure you provide it,” British High Commissioner pointed out in this regard.
According to the latest figures provided by the UK Immigration Statistics, about 118,000 students from India received a student visa in the year ending June 2022 or an 89 per cent increase compared to the data provided by the same period last year.
The same source revealed that Britain continues to remain among the most favourite destinations for Indian citizens after 28 per cent of visas issued for visiting the UK were granted to Indian citizens in the year ending June 2022. At the same time, during the same period, over 258,000 nationals from India received visit visas, which marked a 630 per cent surge compared to the data of the same period last year, during which period COVID-related restrictions to protect citizens’ lives were still effective.
The report provided by the Economic Times also reveals that the citizens of India received about 103,000 visas for working in the UK or a total of 148 per cent increase compared to last year’s same period data.
The figures reveal that Indians continue to remain at the top of the list in terms of the number of Skilled Worker visas granted in the year ending June 2022, or 46 per cent of all visas of this kind granted by authorities in Britain.
