The United Arab Emirates has launched a new Golden Visa platform called “One Touch,” which aims to make the application process easier.
The recent decision has been announced by the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs and Port Security (ICP), VisaGuide.World reports.
Wealthy foreign nationals interested in obtaining UAE Golden Visas will be subject to an easier process now after the new platform aims to help them with their applications for the visa, issuance of other visas, as well as regularization of status and issuance of residency identity, along with the possibility of renewing all of these in just one step.
If a resident meets the needed requirements for the Golden Visa Scheme, they can complete their application online through the Federal Authority for Identity and Nationality, Customs and Ports Security (ICP).
Authorities in the United Arab Emirates also announced that they could access services through the UAEICP app as well. The Golden Visa program of the UAE permits wealthy foreign nationals to acquire residency in this territory if they meet specific conditions and make a financial contribution to this country by applying.
If applicants manage to hold a Golden Visa, they can acquire residency in this territory for a period from five to ten years.
In addition, this kind of visa is not tied to a particular employer nor requires it to be renewed every two or three years.
It means that wealthy foreign nationals who manage to benefit from this program are eligible to live, study, and work in the country without the need for a national sponsor.
The minimum monthly salary requirement for obtaining such a visa recently decreased from Dh50,000 to Dh30,000, with a large number of skilled professionals able to get long-term residency.
More than 100,000 Golden Visas were issued by authorities in the United Arab Emirates last year, accounting for a 35 percent increase compared to 2021 figures.
Based on the local media report, the surge in the number of applications was noted following the changes to the long-term residency program as well as visa rules that became effective in October last year.
Authorities in the UAE are continuously attempting to attract wealthy foreign investors through the Golden Visa scheme. Recently they unfolded plans to issue a total of 100,000 golden visas to leading programmers from a large number of countries worldwide.
