Authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have introduced new plans to issue a total of 100,000 golden visas to leading programmers from countries worldwide in an effort to attract top talents.
Minister of UAE for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, as well as Remote Work Applications and Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, Omar Sultan Al Olama, emphasized the need for digital transformation while stressing that the UAE wants to maximize the potential of the digital economy, whose growth has increased as quickly compared to global GDP in the last two decades, VisaGuide.World reports.
The comments came during the tenth edition of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy’s software as well as artificial intelligence (AI) workshop in which also participated entrepreneurs, as well as industrialists, and journalists.
Al Olama also said that a plan was being drafted with stakeholders in order to further strengthen the digital industry by ensuring that government decisions prompt business and innovation friendliness across the board.
“The UAE is involving all relevant parties in building a clear roadmap to stimulate digital industries and ensure that current government policies, initiatives, and strategies promote innovation and business friendliness for all sectors,” he said.
The Golden Visa Program of the United Arab Emirates, which was introduced in 2018, permits wealthy foreign investors to acquire residency in this country without the need for a national sponsor.
In an effort to facilitate the application process, UAE authorities announced that they would introduce the “One Touch” platform. The decision was confirmed by the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs, and Port Security (ICP).
In addition, UAE leaders also stressed that they could access services via the UAEICP app as well.
Last year, the country announced that over 100,000 Golden Visas were issued, thus accounting for an increase of 35 percent compared to 2021 statistics.
In an effort to attract a large number of internationals, leaders of the UAE previously announced that they would expand their Golden Visa scheme by allowing foreign nationals engaged in more certain professions to hold a ten-year residency through this scheme.
The decision was confirmed by UAE Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, while it was emphasized that it includes holders of doctorate degrees, as well as medical doctors and biotechnology engineers, among others.
Authorities in the United Arab Emirates unfolded plans for long-term visas back in 2018 while it began granting five to ten-year renewable visas in 2019.
