With the increase of Coronavirus infections cases in China several countries around the world have decided to reinstate entry restrictions for all those arriving from there.
The list of the countries that currently require all travelers from China to undergo COVID testing before departure includes the United States, Japan, Australia, and European Union countries among others, and it keeps extending each day, VisaGuide.World reports.
The United States is one of the countries that decided earlier this month to impose a mandatory test requirement for arrivals from China. Since January 5, all air passengers from China above the age of two must undergo COVID testing within two days before departure or prove that they have recovered from the virus in the last 90 days.
The US accepts both PCR and antigen rapid tests from arrivals from China provided that they have been administered as well as monitored by a licensed provider.
Similarly, since January 5, the United Kingdom also requires all travelers from China to take a pre-departure test taken. Apart from requiring those traveling from China to undergo testing before their departure, the UK authorities have said that some individuals may be required to undergo testing once again upon their arrival.
“From January 5, people flying from mainland China to England will be asked to take a pre-departure test. In addition, a sample of arrivals will be tested for COVID-19 to enhance existing measures to monitor for new variants,” the statement of the UK government reads.
Just like the two countries mentioned above, Canada also requires travelers from China to undergo Coronavirus testing no more than two days before their departure.
The Canadian authorities said that the measures apply to all travelers reaching Canada from China, regardless of their nationality, and the same stressed that the measure will initially remain in place for 30 days.
“These planned health measures will apply to air travelers, regardless of nationality and vaccination status. They are temporary measures, in place for 30 days, that will be reassessed as more data and evidence becomes available,” the government of Canada stated.
Apart from the above-mentioned, Japan, South Korea, Israel, India, Malaysia, Qatar, and Morocco also have imposed a mandatory testing requirement for all arrivals from China. The authorities of these countries said that everyone traveling from China must undergo testing before boarding.
Moreover, several European Union countries – Latvia, Greece, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Italy, and France – have also imposed the same entry restrictions for all arrivals from China.
