Saudi Arabia Opens Its Doors for All World Cup Hayya Card Holders

Football lovers around the world will be able to attend the World Cup tournament hosted by Qatar, as well as obtain a free-of-charge visa from Saudi Arabia, enabling facilitated passage between the Arab countries.

According to the Saudi Tourism Authority, Saudi Arabia’s multi-entry visa will be available to all tourists holding the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Hayya Card.

The Hayya Card is a digital ID document that contains holders’ necessary information to be permitted entry to the World Cup in Qatar. Additionally, the ‘Hayya with me’ card has been announced, with this document enabling Hayya Card holders to bring three other tourists with them, VisaGuide.World reports.

The three companions should also be holders of valid Hayya Cards to enjoy free-of-charge entry to Saudi Arabia. Visa for visiting Saudi Arabia will be valid for 60 days, with the earliest dates for permitted stays being ten days prior to the tournament.

Hayya Card holders will also be able to apply for their visas online and book their trip to Saudi Arabia any time before and after the World Cup without having to enter Qatar’s capital, Doha.

The new measures intend to encourage visitors to explore countries near the tournament’s host country, which can be reached by hopper flights. The flag carrier, Saudia is operating 60 flights daily to the Qatari capital, from Jeddah and Riyad – up from 40 flights that were operated before the grand sports event.

The Saudi and Qatar border and port will be open for incoming tourists, with an anticipated daily capacity of 24,000 cars.

Tourists will be able to apply for a Saudi multi-entry visa if they are Hayya card holders by registering online, applying, and paying the medical insurance for the time their trip will last.

According to Travel Noire, Qatar is anticipated to receive 1.5 million tourists for the World Cup event, with the majority of these tourists staying in the country and exploring this destination.

“[Tourism] industry is growing. With the World Cup coming soon, this is the right time to promote the beauty Qatar holds as various travel-based projects have been implemented for the prospective future,” Ali Thabet, General Manager of Milano Travels & Tours, told The Peninsula.

Tourism will be the main focus point in Qatar after the tournament takes place, with almost €10 billion being invested in preparations for the event, including new transport alternatives such as roads, metro systems, and traveling from and to the airport, in addition to establishing eight stadiums.

The event is expected to generate nearly $17 billion for Qatar’s economy, as Nasser Al Khater, FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022’s CEO, noted.
