The Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia has announced that the United Kingdom as well as the United States and Schengen tourism visa holders, including permanent residents from any European Union country are eligible to apply for an instant eVisa through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
Through a statement, holders of a valid tourism and business visa from the US, the UK, or other Schengen countries have been granted an exception, if the visa was used at least once to enter the issuing territory, VisaGuide.World reports.
Local media reports noted that the exception grants the same entry rights to all visa holder’s first-degree relatives, including those who have acquired permanent residence in the US, EU as well as UK.
In addition, permanent residence holders also grant first-degree relatives access to the UK through an upon-arrival visa at any land, air, and sea ports.
The proceeding step consists of the Ministry’s efforts to ease the entry to the Kingdom to foreign nationals who plan to visit this territory, thus allowing them to enjoy tourist destinations among others.
The recent changes to the tourism visa regulation show the importance of compliance with laws and instructions, taking also into account carrying identification documents at all times.
In addition, the Ministry also noted that tourism visas do not grant their beneficiaries the right to perform either Hajj or Umrah during the pilgrimage season.
Authorities in Saudi Arabia are continuously working in order to bring to the country a large number of international visitors, and thus help the country recover from the significant damages caused by the spread of COVID-19 and its new variants.
The figures of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) previously revealed that Saudi Arabia welcomed the largest number of tourists in the Arab world, thus surpassing the figures recorded before the Coronavirus by a total of 121 percent.
The figures provided by UNWTO showed that Saudi Arabia received the highest number of tourists more specifically over 18 million travelers were welcomed in this territory last year.
In addition, previously, Saudi Arabian authorities announced that they decided to introduce the electronic visa system in seven more countries, taking into account, Jordan, Bangladesh, Egypt, the UAE, India, Indonesia, as well as the Philippines.
Those who want to benefit from the e-visa, are required to apply through the official tourism website of Saudi Arabia.
