Authorities in Saudi Arabia have announced that the validity of the single-entry visit visa has been extended from 30 days to a total of three months.
According to local media reports, such a decision comes following the cabinet approval on Tuesday, November 8, VisaGuide.World reports.
Up to this point, single-entry family visit visas had a validity of stay of over 30 days, at the same time, multiple-entry visas permitted their holder to stay in this country for a total of 90 days.
Saudi Arabia’s government also decided to extend the transit visa to a total of 96 hours per stay without being required to pay an additional fee, with a validity of three months.
The recent changes have been approved by Saudi Arabia’s King Salman.
Leaders of this country have continuously applied new changes to their visa schemes.
Previously, Saudi Arabian authorities announced that they would introduce a new tourist visa scheme in order to bring to the country a large number of internationals from the European Union countries, as well as those from the United Kingdom, the United States and from Gulf countries.
Such an announcement was confirmed through a statement published by the Tourism Minister of Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Al-Khateeb.
In addition, the Minister stressed that the new changes were introduced to bring to the country a large number of travellers.
The new amendments mean that passengers from Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates can also benefit from the recent changes.
Besides, it was also stressed the holders of valid tourist visas or those who obtain business visas to the Schengen Zone or the UK are eligible to apply for a visa on arrival provided the other visa has been used at least one time in order to enter the issuing country.
“Elevating the visitor experience is at the heart of the tourism sector’s future. Through harnessing digital innovation and streamlining the traveler’s journey, Saudi Arabia is welcoming more and more visitors,” Tourism Minister Al Khateeb stressed, as reported by the National.
Previously, authorities in this country announced that they would once again impose visas on arrival for all those who hold valid visas for the United Kingdom, Schengen Zone countries, as well as those from the United States.
In this regard, the Tourism Minister stressed that reimposing the visa-on-arrival scheme makes the final step in returning to a pre-pandemic level of openness while stressing that it makes the country one of the most accessible destinations in the world for business, leisure, and religious travel.
Previously, the leaders of Saudi Arabia announced that they would allow entry for all types of visa holders who wish to reach this territory in order to perform the Umrah pilgrimage this year.
