Saudi citizens can now enter three Balkan countries until the end of this year without the need for visas. These countries are Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro.
Through a Twitter post on April 20, the Saudi Embassy in Albania also revealed that citizens from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and Thailand can enter Albania and Kosovo without a visa for the period April 20, 2023, until December 31, 2023, and Montenegro until October 31, VisaGuide.World reports.
Based on the listed conditions for visiting Montenegro, Saudi citizens must travel with a tour group and not alone. At the same time, the Embassy emphasized that they should arrive in the country with a direct flight from the Kingdom.
In addition, Saudis must show proof of payment for the cost of accommodation, a round-trip ticket to the Kingdom and also an invitation letter from a tourist office in Montenegro that organizes the trip.
Whereas to travel to North Macedonia, another Balkan country, Saudis have the option to enter if they have either a Schengen visa, United States visa, United Kingdom visa and Australian visa, provided it is multiple-entry, valid and previously used.
Meanwhile, foreign citizens who have a ten-year residence permit issued by the competent authority of the United Arab Emirates, valid for no less than one year from the moment of entry, have the opportunity to enter the country.
Previously, Japan’s embassy in Riyadh announced that citizens and residents of Saudi Arabia are now eligible to apply for an electronic tourist visa for Japan.
The same authority said that citizens residing in Saudi Arabia have the right to submit an application for a Japanese tourist visa online, which is valid for a period of three months from the date of issuance.
In addition, Saudi citizens should be aware that if a visa fee is applied, depending on their nationality, they are required to visit the Japanese Embassy or Consulate General to pay the fee in cash.
According to the VisaGuide Passport Index, the Saudi passport is ranked 110th in the world in terms of passport power as of March 2023. This means that currently, Saudi citizens can travel visa-free to 46 countries around the world. As for the remaining countries, Saudi passport holders must apply for a visa in advance.
However, for visa-free travel, Saudi nationals must still hold a valid passport – usually six months after the departure date – and travel health insurance as required by the country of destination to which a person wishes to travel.
