The Ministry of the Interior of Qatar has announced that the validity of Hayya Cards has been extended until January 24, 2024, thus permitting fans as well as organizers from other territories to remain in this country for an extended period in a legal way.
According to an announcement made by the same Ministry on Monday, returning to Doha through the Hayya Card requires valid proof of a confirmed hotel reservation, or proof of hosting with family as well as friends that have been issued through the platform as well as ensure that the validity of the passport upon arrival in Qatar is not less than 3 months, VisaGuide.World reports.
The recent changes mean that the holders of the Hayya Card who wish to travel to Qatar will have access to the so-called “Hayya with Me” which permits holders of this card to invite up to three family members or friends.
It also permits a multiple-entry permit to the state and the use of the e-Gate system for entry and exits through state ports without being obliged to pay a fee.
“The above conditions apply to holders of all Hayya Card types used during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022,” the Ministry pointed out in this regard.
The announcement comes after the majority of the holders of the Hayya Card left the country after the initial validity was until January 23 this year. However, the new changes mean that the holders of this card are eligible to come to this country if the requirements are met.
It has been emphasized that among the requirements needed is also health insurance, following the announcement of the Ministry of Public Health regarding the implementation of the first phase of the mandatory Health Insurance Scheme in this country.
Authorities in Qatar confirmed that since the beginning of this month, all visitors to Qatar are required to hold a health insurance policy.
Qatar authorities introduced the Hayya Card for local and international fans of the World Cup. The digital card, known also as a Fan ID is a document officially issued by FIFA World Cup Qatar, and all people must hold such cards together with their match ticket in order to be allowed to enter Qatar’s stadiums during the World Cup.
FIFA World Cup last month announced that over two million Hayya Cards were issued, with Saudi Arabia coming in first place on the list.
