Qatar Expands Hayya Platform to Bring a Larger Number of Visitors from Worldwide Countries

Authorities in Qatar have confirmed that the Hayya Platform has been re-launched.

Effective immediately, the Hayya Platform will become the single portal for all business and tourist visas to this country, VisaGuide.World reports.

In a statement provided by Gulf Business, the portal will unify visa processes for all visitors as well as GCC residents and companions traveling with GCC citizens, the report provided by Gulf Business reveals.

All visitors who are subject to visas in order to enter Qatar will be eligible to apply through the Haya Platform at www.hayya.qa or via the application on their smartphones and also visit the Arab Tourism Capital of this year, Doha.

At the same time, for all those reaching Qatar through the Abu Samra land border, the Hayya Platform offers a pre-registration option for faster entry for vehicles, thus making further easing the travel process.

Nationals from GCC countries can benefit from the option to apply for an entry permit for companions. In addition, the platform provides further services that aim to help visitors, such as maps, and transportation options, among others.

“Qatar’s national tourism strategy seeks to welcome over six million visitors a year by 2030. Already, Qatar is considered the most open country in terms of visa facilitation in the Middle East and the eighth most open globally, with more than 95 nationalities granted visas on arrival,” Chairman of Qatar Tourism Akbar Al Baker pointed out.

He considered that the recent developments would further cement the country’s position as a leading tourism destination and would give the opportunity to a more significant number of passengers to experience Qatar’s “unique touristic offering.”

At the same time, the CEO of the Hayya Platform, Saeed Ali Al Kuwari, said that the re-launch of the Hayya Platform is an extension of the strategic vision developed previously by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, which according to him, centers on the sustainable legacy of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Ahead of the World Cup that took place in Qatar on November 18, authorities in this country introduced the Hayya Card for all those interested in being part of the world’s biggest football event.

Previously, the Ministry of the Interior of Qatar announced that it decided to extend the validity of the Hayya Card until January 2024, allowing fans and organizers from foreign countries to remain in Qatar for an extended period.

CEO of the Hayya Platform said that previously the card permitted fans to reach the country in order to watch their favorite teams, while today, the platform is “the legacy which we build upon,” calling on visitors from all countries to visit Qatar.
