All persons who plan to travel to Qatar for the World Cup will no longer be required to present a negative result of the Coronavirus test upon their arrival in this country after the Health Ministry has announced that such a requirement has been officially removed.
Qatar’s government has announced that it is abolishing the requirement to present a negative result of the COVID-19 test in order to enter the country as part of the efforts to further ease the restrictions imposed to contain the further spread of the Coronavirus and its new variants, ahead of the World Cup, VisaGuide.World reports.
“According to official notices issued Wednesday (October 26), proof of testing is no longer required for entry into Qatar from November 1 to December 18. Proof of health status via ‘Ehteraz’ will still be required for entry, but mandatory testing for entry will no longer be required during this period,” the statement published by the government reads.
It has been emphasized that travelers are required to register through the Hayya website.
According to the figures provided by the World Health Organization(WHO), Qatar has registered a total of 466,626 cases of COVID-19 infection since the start of the pandemic, while a total of 648 people in this country have lost their lives.
The figures provided by WHO show that in the past 24 hours, a total of 81 people have tested positive for the Coronavirus.
Due to the spread of the Coronavirus and its new variants, authorities in Qatar have imposed strict travel rules in order to contain the further spread of the Coronavirus and its new variants; however, at present, authorities in this country have started to facilitate the travel rules in order to help the country recover from the damages of the COVID-19 and its new variants, and also make the entry easier for all football fans that plan to travel to Qatar for the FIFA World Cup that will begin in the next month.
Authorities in Qatar have revealed that starting from November 1, the following changes will become effective:
It is compulsory for all persons to show the health status of the Ehteraz application when entering healthcare facilities in Qatar
It is no longer required to undergo a COVID Rapid Antigen Test or PCR test within 24 hours upon their entry in Qatar
Travelers will no longer be required to present a negative result of the Rapid Antigen Test or PCR test before traveling to Qatar
However, the Ministry has stressed that it will be required to continue to follow standard precautionary measures in order to reduce the risk of infection.
