Are you an employer or an industry leader in Ireland? This is your chance to share your thoughts on Irish immigration visas.
The Department of Enterprise, Trade, and Employment (DETE) in Ireland is preparing for their upcoming public consultation which will review the Critical Skills Occupation List and Ineligible List of Occupations.
Irish employers are encouraged to take part in the consultation and share their views on Irish immigration visas.
Here is what you need to know in order to take part in this process.
Why your voice matters
Many employers in Ireland have experienced various challenges due to restrictions on employment permits.
Irish organisations now have an opportunity to engage with the government and share a proposal of how Ireland can better attract talent from overseas.
As an employer, you can share any observations you have on the affect that the list of ineligible occupations has had on your organisation and sector…
What should my submission include?
Firstly, note that you will have to use the form from the DETE’s website to submit your review.
Let’s get to what to include in your submission…
When making your submissions, consider including some of the following factors:
Skills or labour shortages
Recruitment efforts and retention challenges
Training incentives
Impact on business
Expansion plans
And any other supporting evidence – include industry surveys, reports, or viewpoints from within your sector that support your observations.
By sharing your observations, you will help shape policies and initiatives that address the challenges faced by businesses across Ireland!
How long do I have to submit my review?
Submissions opened on 26 June 2023, and you have until 18 August 2023 to submit your review, at which point the DETE will begin to review submissions.
Take your chance to be the change-maker in shaping the future of employment permits in Ireland!
