Belarus and Israel are considering the possibility of expanding visa-free travel opportunities for citizens of both countries.
The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Israel held a round of consultations this week, during which they discussed the current rules that each other’s citizens face when traveling and measures that can be taken to facilitate the process further, VisaGuide.World reports.
More specifically, the authorities of the two countries discussed the measures they could take to expand the scope under which citizens can travel under a visa-free regime. Moreover, they also discussed tools they could use to assist citizens in emergency situations, Belta explains.
According to the latter, the authorities also want to establish interaction between migration services and also want to continue searching for solutions on the matter that would make travel less inconvenient.
“Special consideration was given to the search for mutually acceptable solutions to the issues related to the entry of Belarusian citizens into Israel,” the statement of the Embassy of Belarus in Israel reads.
It has been revealed that following the consultations, the authorities of the two countries reached a number of agreements. Belta explains that the agreements are aimed at strengthening cooperation between the consular services of both countries and the same noted that the agreements include terms to protect the rights as well as interests of these two countries’ citizens.
The agreements are also aimed at facilitating the procedure for obtaining required documents and crossing the border.
Currently, citizens of Belarus can enter Israel for tourism, business, and other similar purposes and remain in the country for up to three months without having to obtain a visa.
>> Who Needs a Visa For Israel?
The case is not the same for citizens of Belarus who plan to stay in Israel for over three months. For example, citizens of Belarus planning to enter Israel for study or work purposes need to apply for a visa as they will be staying in the country for more than three months.
The A2 Student Visa of Israel permits all of its holders, regardless of their nationality, to enter and pursue their studies in the country. All those holding this type of visa can stay in Israel for as long as their study program lasts.
Similarly, the B1 Work Visa of Israel also permits all those holding it to remain in the country for a longer period.
Citizens of Israel can also enter Belarus visa-free. In line with the visa-free regulations of the Republic of Belarus, no visas are required for citizens of Israel planning to stay in Belarus for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. On the other hand, those planning to stay for a longer time need to apply for a visa depending on the purpose of their entry.
