Authorities in Morocco had issued more than 80,000 electronic visas since July 10, last year, when the country officially introduced the online platform in order to facilitate the travel process and also ease the process of obtaining e-visa for all those interested in visiting Morocco.
While revealing the figures, the head of government, Aziz Akhannouch, noted that Morocco launched e-visas for internationals from 49 countries as part of the efforts to ease their entry to the country, VisaGuide.World reports.
After filing an application for this kind of visa, those approved will receive their visas after 24 days to 72 hours. It permits entry to this country for a period of 30 days, giving foreigners the possibility to extend their visa for up to six months.

The head of Morocco’s government said that the move significantly contributed to bossing the country’s tourism sector after the reopening of borders in March last year.
Last year the country saw about 11 million visitors last year, thus representing a recovery rate of a total of 84 percent of tourist arrivals before the spread of the Coronavirus in 2019, according to Morocco’s Minister of Tourism Fatim Zahra Ammor figures provided last month.
With over $9 billion in revenues, Morocco’s tourism recovery rate last year surpassed the world average of 63 percent, according to Akhannouch.
Besides, by the end of last year, Morocco registered over 19 million overnight stays, accounting for a 75.2 percent increase in comparison to pre-pandemic levels.
“The sector has recovered 116 percent of tourism revenues in foreign currency compared to 2019,” Ammor said, noting that Moroccan tourism has an “unprecedented momentum.”
The figures provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) reveal that authorities in Morocco registered more than 1,273,100 cases of COVID-19 infection since the start of the pandemic, while a total of 16 297 people lost their lives.
