Israel Now Issuing Digital Version of B-1 Work Visa

The Israeli authorities have announced that the country has decided to introduce digital B-1 work visa issuance options for all eligible foreign nationals.

According to the government of Israel, the new rules will apply to all kinds of B-1 work visas, including B-1 Expert visas, B-1 Hi-Tech visas, SEA 90-day work visas, and STEP 90-day work visas, VisaGuide.World reports.

Commenting on the decision, the authorities said that these measures aim to simplify as well as modernize the visa application.

At the same time, the authorities also explained the rules that the applicants have to follow when applying for one of the work visas.

Once a work permit is approved for those who have applied for a B-1 Expert visa, B-1 Hi-Tech visa, and a STEP 90-day visa, the applicants will be required to appear at a consulate of Israel to process their initial consular B-1 visa, Fragomen explains.

Moreover, it has been noted that all applicants are required to follow certain rules such as filling out the application form and paying fees after receiving the approval to submit the form in order for their B-1 work visa to be issued.

“After receiving approval to send the form, the employers will be required to pay fees (annual fee and license) and then a type B/1 foreign expert work permit will be issued for the foreign experts according to the period specified in the employment permit,” the statement of the government of Israel reads.

Differently from before, upon arrival in Israel, all holders of a B-1 work visa will be issued electronically a longer validity and a multiple-entry visa.

The new digitized process that Israel has decided to introduce is believed to be more efficient than the previous one where applicants were given a hard copy of their permit. However, it is advised that everyone still keeps a physical copy of their visa in their passport to prevent any possible inconvenience when traveling.

Additionally, it must be stressed that the current digitized process does not cover those dependents who require B-1 visitor visas.

The Israel B-1 Work Visa permits all its holders to enter the country for work purposes. All people that have a concrete job offer in Israel can apply for this type of visa and both the employer and the employee are involved in the application procedures.

Apart from filling out the application form, foreigners applying for an Israeli work visa must also submit two photos, their current and older passports, proof of booked flight tickets, their birth certificate, proof of paid B-1 visa fees, certificate of Arabic language skills, a medical report, police clearance certificate, and their work contract.
