We can see why.
Vietnam is an amazing country in South East Asia. It’s famous for all of its amazing beaches, rivers, cities, history and culture.
There are so many features and landmarks to explore in Vietnam and the best time to visit is between December and February. During these months, the temperatures are mild and the rain is minimal.
We’ve picked out 5 of the best destinations and landmarks that should be included on any trip to Vietnam. Here are our suggestions:
1. Ha Long Bay
First up, Ha Long Bay is an iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site that is a must-see when visiting Vietnam!
It is home to a karst seascape and limestone islands that sit in the Gulf of Tonkin.
It’s a dream to see and most definitely one of the most beautiful places in the world!
The best way to see Ha Long Bay is by booking one of the many boat tours on offer and sailing through the incredible limestone islands.
It gives you the perfect opportunity to take in the spectacular scenes that create the paradise that is, Ha Long Bay.
2. Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City, or otherwise known as Saigon, is the largest city in Vietnam.
It is a bustling city centre filled with an amazing restaurant and cafe scene, great shopping centres and fascinating museums filled with history and culture.
You’ll also see millions of motorbikes rushing through the streets of the city! It really is a sight to behold.
Be sure to take a visit to the old district – Da Kao.
You will see some of the city’s French colonial architecture that’s still standing to this day!
The Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral is another remnant of the French Colonial period that is amazing to see. It is located in downtown Ho Chi Minh City.

3. Sapa Countryside
The vibrant green rice field countryside surrounding Sapa is a world-famous landmark in the North of Vietnam.
It’s the perfect place to come for a trek through the rice fields, waterfalls and mountains.
You’re guaranteed to see some amazing scenery throughout your trek – so it’s one that you shouldn’t miss!
You can stop off at some of the many small villages along your trek to refuel with some of the tasty Vietnamese cuisine on offer.
We would highly recommend checking out Sapa Eco Restaurant & Bar in the Lao Chai village.
You can enjoy amazing views of the countryside while indulging in some delicious traditional Vietnamese cuisine.
The nature and tranquil surroundings in Sapa countryside are sure to please – be sure to stop by this picturesque landmark during your trip to Vietnam.
4. Cu Chi Tunnels
Experience Vietnam’s history first hand with a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels. They are an extensive tunnel network that stretched more than 250 kilometres at their peak during the Vietnam War.
The tunnels were used as a way for the Viet Cong army to house troops, transport supplies, communicate and disappear into after laying booby traps and surprise attacks.
Two sections of the tunnel network, at Ben Dinh and Ben Duoc village, can be visited with a guide today. It’s a unique and impressive place to see, but definitely not one for the faint-hearted!
As you can imagine, the conditions in the tunnels bring complete darkness, cramped space and you will be on your hands and knees crawling at certain points of the tour.
If you are up for the challenge, it’s totally worth it! It’s a great way to really discover and experience the conditions the VC army had to face during the war.

Da Nang is a coastal city in Vietnam with a history of being a French Colonial Port. It is known for some of the best beaches in Vietnam.
It’s close to the famous My Khe and Lang Co beaches. Think crystal clear water, white sand and palm trees – that’s us sold anyways!
Take time to chill out on the beach, work on your tan and listen to waves lapping in on the sand. Sounds heavenly.
Da Nang is also home to the famous Dragon Bridge landmark.
It’s the longest bridge ever constructed in Vietnam, at a length of 666 metres.
It’s constructed in the shape of a golden dragon and displays some amazing light shows at night!
We recommend that you take an evening to head to a restaurant nearby or sit along the waterfront to watch the dazzling light shows at the bridge.
